 We are looking for a Converter Specialist for our Västerås facility

Your Role

As a Converter Specialist you will be involved in a variety of different domains inside the area of Power Electronics. The main domain is converter design, which includes circuit design as well as control of both the converter and the semiconductor device itself. You will be involved in discussions regarding converter electronics and other systems which are directly or indirectly connected to the power converter.

Since the work is conducted in projects, with every case being unique, your role will be very varying, such as responsibility for activities related to converter design, which includes everything from base design to final delivery. During projects, you ensure that the technical solutions meet customer specific requirements and each country's legislation. Occasionally, you will visit plants to provide on-site evaluation and technical support.

In the Propulsion and Control Division at Bombardier, the three major converter types are line converters, motor converters and auxiliary converters. You will continuously learn new technology in these areas and apply it in practical developments.

Your Qualifications

• MSc or higher degree specialized in Power Electronics
• Experience in design of power converters
• In-depth knowledge of modern electrical drive systems
• Excellent team work, planning and coordination skills
• Business-level fluency in the Swedish and English
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Know-how in the production process
• Possibility to travel
